"Amsterdam-born and raised Varuna Agosti is a DJ, producer, and resident at Orphic and RRFM. With a deep-rooted love for movement and flow, her sound is built on dub, deep, minimal, and Detroit techno, infused with trippy progressive, electro, acid elements, and immersive soundscapes. While these influences shape her selections, she refuses to be confined to a single style, instead exploring the spaces where genres overlap and merge in unexpected ways. The influence of her mother, a percussionist and drummer, resonates throughout her sets, where groove and dynamics are at the core. Shaped equally by the dance floor and an endless hunger for music, Varuna’s selections are as intuitive as they are intricate. Currently studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam’s Electronic Music Academy (AEMA), she is refining her own productions, approaching music as an ongoing conversation between self-expression, dance floor energy, and sonic exploration. This same ethos translates into her DJ sets—fluid, versatile, and full of unexpected moments, always designed to move both body and mind. Her new residency at RRFM provides a platform to dive deep into her extensive collection, allowing her to explore whichever music resonates most in the moment, from trippy and introspective to high-energy and driving.
